The perfect balance of history and high-altitude thrills. Over five days and four nights, you’ll trace the Inca legacy from the temples surrounding Cusco to the living villages of the Sacred Valley, take in an unforgettable evening of Andean dance and music, and crown the journey at the Lost City of Machu Picchu — one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Along the way, you’ll choose your own adventure: a trek to the turquoise Humantay Lake or the surreal Rainbow Mountain.

Everything is handled for you: private and shared transfers, professional guides, all entrance tickets, museum access, a folkloric dance show, scenic train rides, a buffet meal on your trek day, and hand-picked hotels. Designed to operate from 2 travelers, with personal assistance before, during, and after every tour.

Itinerary

Arrival at Cusco airport and a private transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, a guided Cusco City Tour takes you to the imposing fortress of Saqsayhuamán, the ceremonial site of Qenqo, and the outposts of Puka Pukara and Tambomachay, with entrance to the city’s museums along the way. As night falls, enjoy a vibrant folkloric dance show at the renowned Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo. We’ll also hand you a herbal altitude spray to help you settle in. Overnight in Cusco.

Today you choose your high-altitude experience:

  • Humantay Lake (≈13,780 ft / 4,200 m) — a glacial lagoon of unreal turquoise at the foot of the Salkantay glacier, or
  • Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca, ≈16,400 ft / 5,000 m) — one of the most photographed landscapes in Peru.

Either option includes buffet breakfast and lunch. Return to Cusco in the afternoon. Overnight in Cusco.

A full day in the Sacred Valley: the traditional village of Chinchero and a visit to Casa Quechua to discover authentic Andean weaving; the concentric agricultural terraces of Moray; and the dazzling Maras Salt Mines. Buffet lunch at a local restaurant in the valley. In the afternoon we reach Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in Machu Picchu Town.

A Consettur bus ride up to the citadel of Machu Picchu, where your private professional guide leads you through this Inca sanctuary. Plenty of time for photos and to take in the magic of the site. Return by bus to Aguas Calientes, then the scenic train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by tourist transport to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Free time in the morning for last-minute souvenirs or a final walk through Cusco, followed by a private transfer to the airport — plus a farewell surprise to close out your journey. End of our services.

Note: the order and timing of the tours (especially the Day 1 City Tour) can be adjusted to match your arrival and departure flight times.

Recommendations

  • Arrive in Cusco one day early to acclimatize properly to the altitude before the package starts.
  • Bring your original passport (required to enter Machu Picchu, and it must match your booking).
  • Pack a small daypack for the trek and leave your main luggage at your hotel in Cusco.
  • Carry cash in Peruvian soles for tips, markets, and purchases in local communities.
  • Book your add-ons (second trek, extra mountains, upgrades) early — spots sell out fast.
  • Respect local communities and the natural environment: leave no trace and ask before photographing people.

Faq's

It’s a moderate level. The City Tour and Sacred Valley involve light-to-moderate walking, while your chosen trek takes place at high altitude (up to 16,400 ft on Rainbow Mountain). A good general fitness level is recommended — and above all, using Day 1 to acclimatize.

Yes. The package includes one high-altitude trek of your choice. Just let us know your preference when booking so we can secure your spot. You can also add the second trek as an optional extra.

We recommend arriving a day earlier if you can, staying well hydrated, eating light during the first days, and avoiding alcohol. We provide a herbal altitude spray, and our team supports you throughout the entire trip.

The package operates from 2 travelers. Ask us about rates for groups or solo travelers.

Cusco’s dry season (roughly May to October) offers the clearest skies and best trekking conditions, while the green season (November to April) is quieter with occasional afternoon rain. The trip runs year-round; we simply recommend packing a light rain jacket in the green season.
